This is a picture of the milky way and we are a tiny little dot on the edge of it.
Before we take a look at the whole universe, lets take a look at our solar system.
We are one of 8 plants in our solar system. As you can see above, we are the third closest to the sun, and the sun is the centre of our solar system. All eight planets orbit (circle) the sun. Without the suns heat and light, there would be no life on earth.
The earth, moon and sun all interact with each other to create the world we live in today. Solar and Lunar eclipses, seasons and Tidal conditions can all be explained by the movement of the earth and moon.
What is gravity? We feel it every single day, although we can’t see it, we know its there. The planets, moons and sun all have their own a gravitational field.
